I hope that by now things have worked out for you in the dating department, but if you're still confused, here's what I think. If you like this girl, ask her to see a movie or meet up with you at a school function of some sort. If she says yes, you'll know that she - at the very least - likes you as a friend. The more time you spend together, getting to know her better - and allowing her to get to know YOU better - the easier it will be to talk to her and for the both of you to feel comfortable around each other. Even if you don't end up dating or hooking up, at the very least you'll have found yourself a friend you can hang with.
