How do I deal with stress in a long distance relationship? X/10
Rate:
Dear HotGirl,

I'm in a long distance relationship and we were really really close. All of a sudden, things have been happening in her personal life that makes her barely talk to me. When she finally is talking to me, she seems to not be in the mood to talk with me. I know that when i am stressed, I always talk to her. Do you think she has lost interest in me or is it just the way she handles stress?

thanks,
Vic
Dear Vic,

Successful long distance relationships require four basic things: patience, understanding, open communication, and honesty. And LOTS of it... it's the only way both people can continue to grow individually without growing apart.

It's impossible to know what exactly your girlfriend has been going through. Distance changes people and relationships, for better or for worse, and very often that's not something either of you can completely control. If your girlfriend has been stressed out over something she doesn't want to share with you, the best thing you can do is tell her that you still care very much about her and will be there to listen to her whenever she wants. Tell her that it frustrates you to feel like she's not been herself lately and to be able to help, whatever it is. Hopefully, she'll either assure you that there's nothing wrong at all, or maybe she'll open up and confide in you; if not, at least she'll be comforted knowing that you're still there for her.

Hope this helps! Good luck.
